SecureCloud highlighted its commitment to driving innovation in the defence industry last Wednesday, hosting its third annual Innovation Day at London’s iconic Gherkin. Under the theme “Securing the Future: Enabling Trust in a Zero-Trust World,” the event convened over 100 senior leaders from government, military, and industry to strategize the future of secure collaboration. A key highlight was the introduction of SecureCloud+’s JUPITER system, a cutting-edge platform designed to redefine data management and secure communications for the defence sector.
Industry Leaders Set the Agenda
The gathering drew key figures from government, the private sector, and diverse UK military and security organisations, demonstrating the growing recognition of innovative security platforms that match today’s evolving threat landscape. The event was supported by leading technology partners Dell, Pexip, and Rocket.chat, each contributing expertise in their respective domains of data management, video collaboration, and secure communications.
Major General (Retired) Robin Anderton-Brown opened the day with a compelling keynote on the Defence Industrial Strategy, emphasising the critical importance of supporting small and medium-sized businesses within the defence ecosystem. “Investing in SMBs is crucial for a robust Defence Industrial Strategy,” he stated, highlighting how collaborative partnerships across the supply chain strengthen national security capabilities.
Technology Partners on Secure Collaboration
Throughout the day, SecureCloud+ partners highlighted the need for seamless, secure collaboration across defence operations.
- Dell’s Simon Haywood, Chief Technology Officer for Unstructured Data Solutions, presented the company’s data value lifecycle approach and showed how advanced analytics can accelerate decision-making by breaking down data silos.
- Nick Ross of Pexip, Head of Defence UK&I, underlined the importance of secure video collaboration for mission-critical communications, including integration with battlefield management systems.
- Mike Farman of Rocket.chat demonstrated how secure, flexible communications platforms can enhance task force collaboration and operational resilience.
Together, these insights reinforced the day’s theme: Enabling trust in a zero-trust world.
JUPITER: The Future of Defence Collaboration
The event concluded with SecureCloud+ Chief Revenue Officer Steven Mills presenting JUPITER, the company’s revolutionary secure multi-service platform. “JUPITER offers a revolutionary approach to security in a zero-trust world,” Steve stated, demonstrating how the platform addresses the evolving needs of defence collaboration through enhanced interoperability, streamlined communication, and sovereign data control.
By leveraging the JUPITER platform, defence and government organisations can achieve unparalleled levels of security, collaboration, and efficiency. Its innovative design aligns with the growing demands of a zero-trust approach, ensuring compliance with stringent security standards while adapting to the dynamic needs of defence operations. JUPITER is more than just a platform—it is the foundation for secure, informed collaboration and operational success in today’s rapidly evolving security landscape.
Hands-On Demonstrations and Networking
The afternoon concluded with interactive demonstrations and networking sessions, allowing attendees to experience first-hand the technologies discussed throughout the day. The spectacular London views from the Gherkin’s upper floors provided an inspiring backdrop for meaningful discussions about the future of defence technology.
Continuous Assurance: The New Standard
The SecureCloud+ Innovation Day closed with a clear call to action: defence and government organisations must move beyond legacy practices and embrace continuous assurance, resilient collaboration, and zero-trust security. With the launch of JUPITER, SecureCloud+ has set a new standard for secure multi-service platforms, reinforcing its role in helping defence organisations build trust, protect sovereignty, and stay ahead in an evolving threat landscape.
